Dr. Wiemi Douoguih, M.D.

Clinical Research and Product Development Advisor
and Human Performance

Dr. Douoguih is a graduate of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA where he was an All-American lacrosse player. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and is an alumnus of the Union Memorial Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program.

Dr. Douoguih is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and completed a sports fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles. Dr. Douoguih has served as an assistant team physician for the Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Angels, and Anaheim Mighty Ducks as well as for the teams of Loyola Marymount University.

Dr. Douoguih currently serves as the Medical Director and Head Team Physician for the Washington Wizards (NBA) and as Medical Director for the Washington Capitals (NHL) and is former Medical Director for the Washington Nationals. Dr. Douoguih serves as a Team Physician for the United States Judo Team, is an Associate Team Physician for the University of Maryland athletics (NCAA), and a consultant for the Baltimore Ravens (NFL). He also serves as Medical Director of MedStar Sports Medicine, Washington Region.

Dr. Douoguih is a member of the Georgetown Orthopedic Institute and performs surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where he specializes in arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. He is an award-winning researcher who has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and has lectured internationally on various sports medicine topics.
