MAJ. Germaine B. Hawkins D.O., Integrative Psychiatrist and Neuromodulation Medicine Specialist, serves as Executive Vice President and Clinical Research and Product Development Advisor for mental and brain health. Dr. Hawkins is well suited to serve in this capacity as he has served tours with US Army Medical Corps in Pristina, Kosovo and Schweinfurt, Germany in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom as a reintegration and combat stress psychiatrist. Dr. Hawkins has invaluable years of clinical experience treating both civilian and military populations battling co-occurring chronic pain and PTSD. He is also an opioid addiction medicine specialist.

Dr. Hawkins’ psychiatric clinical practices in Arlington and Mansfield, Texas focus on offering alternative treatments to prescription medications commonly associated with burdensome side effects. His Neuromodulation Medicine Clinic offers TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and Micro-current Neurofeedback both non-medicinal and non-invasive alternatives in treating clinical depression and anxiety disorders such as OCD and PTSD.

MAJ Hawkins serves as medical director of Veterans Healthcare Alliance in Irving and Houston, Texas. VHA’s mission is to provide evidence-based quality care by incorporating advanced technologies, including VECTTOR Therapy, a form of electronic medicine that utilizes interferential therapy and low frequency stimulation for symptomatic relief of chronic intractable pain. VHA’s goal is to serve as a preeminent treatment center for acute injuries, chronic pain, traumatic brain injuries, PTSD, depression, and many other ailments.

Dr. Hawkins completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas majoring in Biomedical Sciences (B.S.). He then attended University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) where his received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. Dr. Hawkins completed his General Psychiatry Residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Dr. Hawkins is also focused on developing novel treatments for neurotransmitter deficiencies, often associated with various mental health disorders in servicemen and women, as well as in the civilian population. In 2013, in response to many of his patients’ frustration with psychiatric medication side effects, he started to research potential herbal, plant-based and nutritional methods to help his patients obtain optimal brain functioning.

Dr. Hawkins has developed a clinically tested new natural OTC brain optimization supplement, called Advyndra.
